what to expect at your laser hair removal appointment

For facial treatments: Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores; an antiviral medication may be recommended.
Avoid sun exposure 2 weeks pre-treatment.
Avoid artificial tanners 3 weeks pre-treatment.
Avoid topical retinoids, hydroquinone, cortisone, benzoyl peroxide, scrubs, AHA's and BHA's for 2 days prior.
Exfoliate skin 24-48 hrs prior.
Shave morning of or night before.
Do not use lotion, creams or deoderant, if possible.

Your provider will explain treatment expectations and post-care before, where you can ask any questions or concerns.
Your treatment begins with the application of a cooling ultrasound gel to the treatment area. The Alma Soprano Titanium's advanced cooling tip helps keep your skin comfortable throughout the session, making the treatment well tolerated by most clients.
You may feel a quick "tweeze" sensation followed by gentle warmth as the laser targets the hair follicles. Most clients describe the treatment as comfortable, with minimal discomfort.

Mild redness, swelling or sensitivity may occur after treatment, up to 48 hours.
Change sheets and/or pillow cases day of treatment.
Avoid excessive sweating, heat, saunas, swimming pools, and hot tubs for 24 hours.
Keep skin clean and hydrated.
Avoid topical retinoids, hydroquinone, cortisone, benzoyl peroxide, scrubs, AHA's and BHA's for one week following treatment.
Avoid sun exposure: SPF 30+ with UVA/UVB protection daily, reapplying throughout the day.
Do not rub, scratch or pick at the treated area. Avoid any friction to area treated.
Exfoliate using a scrub in 7-10 days following treatment to help targeted hairs out of the follicle.
Rebook next treatment for 6-8 weeks (or as recommended by your provider).
