what to expect at your appointment

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Treatment:

  • Schedule your PRP appointment at least two weeks before any special event, as swelling and bruising may occur during this time.

  • To help minimize bruising or bleeding, avoid aspirin, NSAIDs, ginkgo biloba, garlic, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, flax oil, cod liver oil, vitamins A and E, and other essential fatty acids for 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment. Please consult your primary care provider before discontinuing any medications.

  • Starting arnica supplements at least two days prior to treatment may help reduce bruising.

  • Treatment cannot be performed on areas with an active rash or infection.

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, clearance from your OB-GYN is required prior to treatment.

PRP for Hair Restoration:

  • Schedule your appointment at least two weeks before any special event, as redness, swelling, and bruising may be visible during this time.

  • Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores; an antiviral medication may be recommended.

  • Treatment cannot be performed on areas with an active rash.

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, clearance from your OB-GYN is required prior to treatment.
